Thank you for using Still Safe. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Still Safe is developed and operated by Still Safe LLC ("we," "us," or "our").
Information We Collect
- Account info: email address and optional display name/phone.
- App data you provide: your check-in schedule, selected contacts and contact lists, optional personalized message.
- Location (optional): if you enable location services, Still Safe may track your location when you significantly change your location to maintain your last known location for safety purposes. This location data is only used for the app's safety features and is never sold or shared with third parties. Location data is only shared with your chosen contacts when you explicitly enable location sharing for specific safety sessions. You can turn this off at any time.
- Device & diagnostics: app version, device identifiers for push, basic analytics, and crash logs.
- Payments: subscription purchases are processed by Apple; we do not receive your full payment details.
- Advertising data: if you use the free tier, Google AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP addresses, and usage data to deliver personalized advertisements. This data collection is governed by Google's privacy policy. Premium subscribers do not see advertisements and this data is not collected.
How We Use Information
- Provide and improve core features (check-ins, SOS, notifications).
- Send notifications to the contacts you choose.
- Maintain your last known location for safety purposes and share it with your chosen contacts only when you explicitly enable location sharing for specific safety sessions.
- Maintain safety, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
- Offer support when you contact us.
Analytics
Still Safe uses Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage information, such as feature interactions and app performance. This data helps us understand how the app is used and improve reliability and safety features. We do not collect message content, contact information, or precise location data for analytics purposes.

Sharing
- Your chosen contacts: notifications and (if enabled) your last known location, only when you explicitly enable location sharing for specific safety sessions. We never share your location data with anyone unless you explicitly authorize it for the purpose of the app's safety features.
- Service providers: e.g., Firebase/Google Cloud (hosting, database, push), Apple (billing), Google AdMob (advertising for free tier users only).
- Legal: if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Important: We do not sell, rent, or share your location data or personal information with third parties for their marketing or advertising purposes. Your location data is only used for the app's safety features and is only shared with your chosen contacts when you explicitly enable it.
Advertising (Free Tier)
The free tier of Still Safe displays advertisements through Google AdMob. Google AdMob may collect and use data about your device, including device identifiers, IP addresses, and app usage, to deliver personalized advertisements. This data collection and use is governed by Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings. Premium subscribers do not see advertisements and no advertising data is collected for them.
Your Choices
- Toggle whether to include your location with alerts at any time. You can disable location tracking entirely in system settings and in-app.
- Manage contact lists and recipients at any time.
- Control notifications in system settings and in-app.
- If using the free tier, you can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings.
- Request access, correction, export, or deletion via stillsafesupport@icloud.com.
Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize data within a reasonable period unless we need to retain certain records for legal or security reasons.
Children's Privacy
Still Safe is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we'll remove it.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information. No system is 100% secure; please use the app responsibly.
International Transfers
Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. Protections are applied consistent with this Policy.
Changes
We may update this Policy. We'll revise the "Effective" date and, when appropriate, notify you in-app or by email.
